● The Field of Political economy: 1990’s Prolonged depression and the changes in the political system in
Japan during the 1990’s.
-Crisis of Japanese financial policies in the 1990’s: Focusing on policies concerning bad bond disposal
-Analysis on the characters and causes of the
Japanese financial crisis in 1990’s. -Change in Japanese enterprise power and the
relationship between the state and enterprises in the 1990’s.
-Prolonged depression in the 1990’s and changes in pattern in the business world to exercise pressure
on politics in Japan -Change in the Japanese economic structure and
understanding the policies concerning its investment in Korea.
-Comparison in process of the Japanese
economic crisis: Focusing on the 1930’s and 1940’s

1. Purpose
-Investigates
the current situation of Japanese studies in terms of politics, political
economy and society & culture.
-Compare Korea’s research
on Japan with recent research
done in Japan, Europe and America with further
expectation of its possible direction
-Academic
interchange among members in the Sejong
Institute Japan Center
2. Process
-Report and discuss the recent situation in Japan once every
two months -Time: 10 a.m. on third Saturday of each month
